College Recruiting

Course Overview

Designed to teach parents the rapid and convoluted process of college recruiting. This course will help you become proficient in how to support your athlete while they face this once in a lifetime decision.

At the age of 18, I was recruited at multiple NCAA Division I universities including USC, UCLA, University of Michigan, University of Arizona, Texas A&M, and others. My parents never went to college and I was the first in the family to experience the world of recruitment. Throughout the recruiting process I was confused, stressed, and overwhelmed.

I signed to Arizona State University where I swam under coaches Dan Kesler, Bob Bowman, and Dorsey Tierney-Walker who all eventually paved my Road to Rio in 2016. There, I also learned the intimate side of college recruiting on the other side of the fence- with the desire to gain a strong teammate.

The College Recruiting Course will teach you the complexities of recruiting in 3 elaborate sections, including:

Section 1The Approach:  sets the stage for parent understanding behind their athlete’s mentality and thought process. The Approach dives into establishing criteria for selecting recruiting trips, NCAA recruitment rules, and the language of recruiting coaches.

Section 2– Getting Warmer: uncovers best practices during a recruiting trip, how to tip the scale when deciding between programs, and pressured decision making that your athlete faces during college recruiting.

Section 3– Sign, Seal & Delivery: is all about the next steps after signing to a college. Sign, Seal & Delivery will walk you through how your athlete should prepare for college and what the expectations will look like on Day 1 as a Freshman.
